Who am I?
Welcome to my past and more importantly now and future!
I am a researcher and software engineer with specialty in high-performance visual computing. I greatly enjoy architecting, designing, and implementing software.
My Ph.D. research topic is about making large volumetric data sets accessible and useful to users, which includes efficient and scalable indexing structures and data layout as well as fast and scalable rendering algorithms. Currently, my main interest is real-time 3-D parallel rendering of large volumetric data sets using the latest parallel processors such as multi-core CPUs and massively parallel GPUs.
I have successfully defended my Ph.D. dissertation on May 7th, 2008 and joined Rhythm & Hues Studios in L.A. as of Jun 2008 to further work on rendering in special film visual effects and character animation.
My personal life vision is to create world-class innovative visual computing software that will revolutionize the way people do creative work. Through my lifetime, I would like to be a warm-hearted software creator, who loves friends and God and well serves His purpose.
